3. Do a sound check

Find a quiet space to record — it’s important that your future clients can hear you nice and clearly. Practice a couple times to feel confident!

4. Relax & be yourself

This is all about sharing who you are. Simply follow the prompts and let your person ality shine through — and don’t forget to share a warm smile!

5. Take your time

Not satisfied? You can re-record until you get the perfect take. Most caregivers record their video profile at least 3-5 times.

What do clients want to hear in your profile video?

Let's talk strategy. The best way to feel confident about what you’ll say in your video is to plan ahead. So grab a pen and a notebook, or get ready to tap out a list on your phone.

Just imagine you are introducing yourself… because that’s exactly what you’re doing! Start by making a list of things you want a future client to know about you. Try coming up with a couple quick and easy things like where you’re from and how long you’ve been a caregiver. Then, branch out into something more personal, like what inspires you about caregiving.

Here are a few topics to consider:

  • Your name and where you’re from

  • How long you’ve been a caregiver

  • Special credentials, certificates, or schools you’ve attended

  • What inspires you about caregiving

  • Your favorite memory of working with a client

  • A little bit about your personality as a caregiver (Bonus: give an example!)

  • A time when you felt you were able to make a difference in your client’s life

  • What do you like to do outside of work? (Do you love gardening, spending time with family, or have a favorite sport?)

Remember your client is looking for reasons to get excited about you, your personality, and style of care. Aim for friendliness, openness, and empathy, and most of all, be yourself and have fun!
