How to dress as a care professional

We’re talking about on-the-job style that keeps you comfortable AND ready to meet clients

In a world of increasingly remote work, in-home caregivers—like teachers, childcare professionals, and other in-person workers—still have to answer that age-old question every morning: What should I wear to work today?

The goal: professional yet comfortable

Like many hands-on professionals, in-home caregivers face a bit of a dilemma when it comes to choosing what to wear to work. As a caregiver, you want to wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to move around in, but also appear professional and appropriate.

Our top tip? Keep the balance between functional and professional, with supportive shoes and clothing that you can easily move around in and feel at ease in different environments. Your workplace is usually someone’s home, but could also be a care facility or assisted living community. Sometimes, you might be on the go, running errands or accompanying your client to appointments. Stay adaptable, and bring a bag with a change of clothes, extra layers, and any other items you might need throughout the day.
