Unlike traditional care agencies, at Herewith you won’t find restrictive hourly minimums when booking in-home senior care.
If you need help with one-off requests, such as respite care for an afternoon, help with transportation to and from an appointment, or if you want to do a trial shift with a Helper before deciding to hire them for ongoing care, you can book a one-time task.
Tasks are one-time bookings with same-day payment. You’ll create your Help Request, choose and book a Helper, then pay for that Helper’s time right after the task is completed, unlike ongoing care, which runs on a weekly payroll for part-time or full-time Helpers.

You’ll pay for tasks online or on your Herewith mobile app through our simple payment portal. The first time you create a Help Request you’ll set up your payment method and add your choice of credit or debit card. You won’t be charged until care is received.
Going forward, you can easily manage and update your payment preferences at any time by going to the Account menu. Learn more about how to manage your payment preferences on Herewith.
As a one-time bookings, tasks are paid on the same day, after care services are rendered.
If your Help Request has not been booked, you may cancel it at any time. However, if you’ve already confirmed a Helper for the booking, cancellation fees may apply.
Please see the following for Herewith’s senior care cancellation policy:
If your Helper is running late, we recommend that you message them to ensure that they are on their way. They can clock in late and make up the time, as long as it’s ok with you.
If your Helper doesn’t show up and doesn’t clock in, you don’t have to do anything—you will not be charged for the task.
If your Helper doesn’t show up and does clock in, you can end the task from your Herewith app and mark them as a no-show so that you will not be charged.
Helpers must clock in to get paid for tasks. If the task is supposed to start and you do not receive the live shift notifications, please reach out to your Helper directly. They may be running late, or they may have forgotten to clock in. If they do not ever clock in but do complete the task, please call Support at 415-506-9776 to address the situation.
If your Helper hasn’t clocked out yet and it’s past the time the task should have ended, we recommend reaching out to them to confirm whether or not they are still working. For example, if they are providing help with errands and are stuck in traffic, they may not be able to clock out yet.
You will get a text SMS reminder if your Helper is still clocked in and exceeds the time set for the task, so that you can message them and check in.
If you confirm they have stopped working but haven’t clocked out, you may clock out on their behalf.
How to clock out on behalf of a Helper and end their shift:
We recommend chatting with your Helper before the task begins to let them know your preferences on going over the booked time frame.
Here are a few options for different senior care needs:
If your Helper logs more time than they worked, you can request a correction on their timecard at time of payment. Please be aware however, that Herewith takes disputes seriously and investigates all disputes. By law, you must pay for time worked by your Helper.
