A year and a half after launching its senior care platform, Herewith’s newly announced Chief Operating Officer Veronica Baiz, kicks off a new era of growth, innovation, and ingenuity for the in-home senior care startup.
Under Baiz’s leadership, Herewith is expanding its mission to provide affordable in-home senior care. The platform goes beyond connecting families and caregivers, to partner with senior living facilities, healthcare providers—including specialty care providers like dialysis clinics, rehab facilities, and hospice centers, and even employer benefits platforms to close gaps in care with affordable, flexible support from trained Helpers.
Bringing a unique perspective to the tech industry as a working mom, a Latina under 40, and a 10-year military veteran with a breadth of experience in the healthcare compliance industry and human resource management, Veronica Baiz has dramatically broadened Herewith’s scope, pushing the care platform forward with gusto. About her new role, Baiz states:
“Breaking barriers isn’t about defying the odds, it’s about redefining them. As a Latina who became a mother at 16, a first-generation doctoral candidate, a military veteran, and a leader in healthcare and technology, I’ve learned that resilience, hard work, and purpose will always outshine the statistics we are boxed into. My journey proves that no matter where you start, dedication can take you anywhere. At Herewith, we’re not just building a company; we’re shaping a future where access to care is equitable, opportunities are limitless, and the impossible is simply the starting point.”
Since taking on the role in December 2024, Baiz has driven the senior care start-up’s rapid expansion, landing diverse new partnerships within just a few weeks, including BenefitHub, Military Spouse Employment Program (MSEP), CareAcademy, and local senior living communities, such as Amazed Group Care (Houston).
Her inside knowledge of the healthcare industry, from her time as a hospital director to firsthand experience early in her career as a nursing assistant, has firmed up Herewith’s connections with local clinics such as Integrated Healing Medicine (San Francisco), where Baiz is piloting in-home care programs for healthcare providers.
Baiz’s former supervisor, Dr. Brandon Smith, PharmD, states:
“Ms. Baiz possesses the rare combination of raw talent, relentless drive, and unwavering optimism that leads to success after success. Her thorough and dedicated approach to complex challenges in health care, business, academics, and life have consistently lifted her above others who do not demonstrate the same grit. With Veronica, excellence can be expected, as she will allow herself nothing less.”
Under Baiz’s leadership, Herewith has partnered with TeqFocus, implementing data-driven optimizations on the platform, ensuring a smooth user experience for users. In a recent podcast with Jas Kaur, Baiz dives into her vision and the realities of building an easy-to-use digital caregiving platform for families, older adults, and care professionals, while ensuring accessibility and strong customer support for new adopters of mobile technology.
At Herewith, innovative technology isn’t the goal in and of itself. Technology is the powerful force behind the scenes connecting people to the in-home care services they need. From seniors looking for in-home care to skilled nursing facilities looking for staffing solutions, families looking for care partners for in-home dialysis, or in-home caregivers searching for flexible, well-paying jobs, Herewith.
